WHAT IS THE JOB? R & D Scientist - Horticulture

WHAT IS THE JOB? Manage the technical elements of the company's International Portfolio to include Innovation, Enhancement and Maintenance of the Portfolio

WHAT ARE MY RESPONSIBILITIES?:

  • Lead all field biology for new product development, trials, protocols and validation of reports.
  • Develop a sustainable, compliant product portfolio.
  • Align projects with Marketing and Regulatory teams.
  • Support Supply Chain in major product transition.
  • Verify marketing claims and documentation.
  • Manage internal and external field trials.

WHAT SKILLS OR EXPERINCE DO I NEED?

  • Must-have:

    • Science degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Horticulture, Plant Science, Biology, or Environmental Science.
    • 5+ years in Growing Media; 5-7 years in Fertilizer or Growing Media development.
    • Fluent in English (written & spoken).
    • Understanding of environmental challenges in fertilizers & peat extraction.
    • Strong project management & presentation skills.
    • Proficient in ARM, statistical software, and SAP.
    • Collaborative with strong project ownership.
    • Practical, creative problem-solver with sound judgment.
    • Driven, flexible, and innovative thinker.

    Preferred:

    • Advanced Science degree with 10+ years of industry experience.
    • Proven track record in Fertilizer & Growing Media development.
    • Experience with Manufacturing, Quality, and international teams.
    • Knowledge of Life Cycle Analysis & Carbon Footprint assessment.
    • Familiarity with global Fertilizer/Growing Media regulations.
    • Strong leadership, foresight, and ability to simplify complex science.
