WHAT IS THE JOB?
We are looking for an experienced in agriculture or poultry sales professional, especially in poultry machinery supplies, to join our team and lead new sales activity, delivering results aligned with our business goals.
This role involves working closely with our customer base, including active farms, distributors, and contractors, advising them on the effective use of our products and services.
The right candidate will be proactive and solutions-focused, generating sales through a combination of project specifications and repeat customer business.
You will also play a key part in supporting a sales team culture that prioritises excellent customer service, commercial success, and collaboration.
Practical on-site experience is highly valued, particularly when supporting our installation team to ensure project margin targets are achieved.
A strong background in agricultural sales, especially within the poultry sector, is essential.
WHAT ARE MY RESPONSIBILITIES?:
You will be responsible for generating new sales opportunities and delivering the sales turnover and margin target for the territory. This includes managing the sales project pipeline for your assigned area and providing valuable sales intelligence to support both management and marketing teams.
You’ll support the relationship between sales and operations, while also liaising with the marketing team to assist in the continued development of the brand.
A crucial part of your role will be developing and maintaining strong account relationships with poultry and livestock businesses, as well as with their suppliers and business partners — including shed builders, merchants, distributors, and contractors.
WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERINCE DO I NEED?
To be successful in this role, you must have experience within agricultural sectors such as livestock, dairy, and poultry. You should be able to demonstrate proven success in both sales performance and margin achievement.
Experience dealing with customer organisations at all levels is essential, as is a background in selling projects and turn-key solutions. You must have experience overseeing project installations and supporting the development of a leading brand.
Proven field sales experience in the agricultural engineering sector, along with a solid understanding of poultry and livestock management, is required.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, self-managing, and driven to succeed in sales. You should enjoy developing relationships and take personal responsibility not only for your own results but also in supporting the success of the wider team. Self-awareness and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are key.
A solid understanding of the poultry and livestock markets and the challenges they face is essential. You should also be familiar with the planning and environmental approvals process within livestock businesses. An understanding of the design of air movement and environmental systems is preferred but not essential.
It is important that you are aware of and have existing relationships with relevant merchants and dealers. You will need to be a creative problem solver with strong negotiation and rapport-building skills. The ability to motivate, lead, and influence others is also important. You should be confident in presentation environments, including delivering business cases and seminar presentations.
Strong IT skills and a full UK driving licence are essential.
