WHAT’S THE JOB? AREA SALES MANAGER – SOUTH WEST

WHERE IS THE ROLE LOCATED? Home Based either in South West England, also covering Mid and South Wales.

TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE ROLE?

  • To manage existing portfolio of products and business within the territory
  • To build strong relationships with existing customer base and in particular develop new business with our clients products in the defined area
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Developing and executing a strategy to identify new accounts with the aim of securing new business
  • This task is to be achieved by working directly with potential new farmer accounts and merchant customers
  • To provide technical training
  • Advice and support for customers as and when required
  • To work with distribution to ensure customers’ requirements are met
  • Be responsible for good Credit Control
  • To attend conferences and exhibitions where necessary

WHAT QUALITIES DO I NEED?

  • There will be a lot of travel throughout the area to growers and customers to understand their needs and concerns and to add value to with the services you are able to offer
  • Visit growers, inspect and report on their growing and storage conditions, being able to offer advice through your resources
  • An Agriculture based qualification would be an advantage but not essential
  • A Commercial background in crop nutrition would be an advantage
  • FACTS Certification would also be preferred but not essential
  • Sales training would be an advantage Computer literacy essential (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Social Media)
  • Strong organisational, communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • High energy level
  • Professional appearance/manners
