FARM MANAGER - HORTICULTURE - KSA - Saudi Arabia - Strawberry Production
With overall responsibility for this dynamic production facility you will be leading the following teams to ensure productivity and efficiency is optimum:
Farm Supervisors
Quality Control
Agricultural Engineer
Production and Packing Teams
Growing and Logistics Teams
You will be undertaking responsibility and accountability for the following activities:
- Nursery (Sowing)
- Germination
- Propagation
- Harvest
- Daily Plant Management
- Plant Growth & Quality
- Fruit Size, Quality, Taste
- Climate Control Management
- Fertigation Management
- Quality Control and Quality Assurance
- Health and safety
- Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
- Production Rate
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directly manage all activities related to plant transplanting, plant growth, nutritional formulation optimisation, nutritional deficiencies detection, disease detection, insect infestation detection, climate management, plants trimming, plants cleaning, plants and greenhouses inspection, plants pollination, plants harvesting, etc.
- Manage all Integrated Pest Management activities. (IPM)
- Manage and lead the farm teams to ensure daily tasks and production targets are met.
- Manage the efficiency and effectiveness of all relevant functions and activities to ensure that the Farms operations (Nursery, Propagation, and Harvest) are operating effectively to produce the high premium crop and are in adherence with established policies & procedures.
- Ensure the farm is meeting the production goals, objectives, guidelines, plans, and budgets set.
- Establish formal and informal communication lines across the different departments and personnel for prompt identification and resolution of issues and obstacles that impede the operational efficiency.
- Ensure production is running at optimal capacity.
- Mitigate risks associated with the operation and anticipate any issues or incidents to ensure production lines are running optimally.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture or related Agricultural field
- Minimum of 10 years in Horticulture / Agriculture industry experience
- Direct Experience in Strawberry hydroponic growing (5+ years).
- Direct Experience in growing in greenhouses
- Experience in growing other berry products is a plus (Blueberry, Raspberry, Blackberry)
- Proficiency in the English language (Arabic language is a plus)
