WHAT IS THE JOB?
The primary responsibility of an Agriculture/Poultry Tutor is to deliver engaging and inspiring teaching and learning experiences, guiding learners toward the successful completion of their vocational qualification.
WHAT ARE MY RESPONSIBILITIES?:
- Deliver high-quality work-based training for Level 2 and Level 3 learners, either in classrooms, workplaces, or remotely.
- Plan, deliver, and document teaching and assessment using varied resources aligned with Apprenticeship standards and Work-Based Diplomas on the electronic portfolio system.
- Provide timely, effective feedback and track learner progress, ensuring successful and timely achievement of qualifications.
- Create engaging teaching materials tailored to individual learner needs, incorporating vocational contexts.
- Participate in teaching observations, reflect on practices, and implement improvements.
- Deliver bespoke and accredited short courses to meet industry and learner needs.
- Share best practices, support colleagues, and contribute to team development through meetings and CPD activities.
- Maintain compliance with ESFA, Ofsted, and safeguarding requirements while promoting learner wellbeing.
- Attend meetings and maintain accurate training records to ensure quality assurance and learner satisfaction.
WHAT SKILLS OR EXPERINCE DO I NEED?
Essential Requirements:
- Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE/Cert Ed) or willingness to achieve this within an agreed timeframe.
- Assessor/Verifier qualifications (e.g., A&V Awards) or equivalent.
- Occupational competence or recent relevant experience in several areas such as Hatchery, Broiler, Breeder, Grower, Egg Production, or Rearing.
- Level 3 qualification in either Maths, English, or ICT, with Level 2 in the other two subjects.
- Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- Level 4 TAQA qualification.
- Degree at Honours level in a related subject.
- Experience delivering Functional Skills (English and Mathematics).
- Occupational competence or recent relevant experience in all assessing areas, including Hatchery, Broiler, Breeder, Grower, Egg Production, and Rearing.
