TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE ROLE?
Supervision and Guidance: Provide direct supervision to farm staff, ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest standard. Offer continuous guidance and advice to staff to help them achieve their individual and team objectives.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor the daily performance of all units under your responsibility. Ensure that all operations are conducted in accordance with Divisional guidelines and best practices. Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Policy Implementation: Ensure that the provisions of all health and safety policies are always implemented on the farm. Conduct regular training sessions to keep staff informed about policies and procedures. Maintain strict biosecurity measures to prevent disease outbreaks.
WHAT QUALITIES DO I NEED?
Experience: A minimum of 7 years’ experience in the management of large poultry units, and a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale operations and achieving performance targets.
Skills and Knowledge: Strong understanding of poultry management, including health, nutrition, breeding, broiler and egg production. Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team. Ability to analyse performance data and implement strategic improvements.
Education: Degree qualified, preferably with a bachelor’s in agriculture or an equivalent qualification. Continuous professional development in farm management practices and technologies is desirable.
Other Requirements: Demonstrated commitment to adhering to all farm safety and health regulations. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by farm operations. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
