Your Role

As a Scheme Investigation Manager, you’ll play a vital role in safeguarding our reputation and the welfare of animals certified under our scheme. You’ll handle investigations into breaches of standards or allegations of animal cruelty, conducting spot checks and proactive monitoring. Working closely with various teams, you’ll provide detailed reports, recommend sanctions where needed, and contribute to improving overall compliance.

What You’ll Do

  • Investigate complaints and allegations of breaches or animal cruelty.
  • Plan and carry out proactive spot checks, prioritising high-risk areas.
  • Collaborate with farm engagement teams to support members in meeting standards.
  • Prepare detailed investigation reports and recommend appropriate sanctions.
  • Present findings to decision-makers and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Support reporting on compliance trends and provide strategic insights.

What You’ll Bring

  •  Essential Skills and Experience:

    • Strong investigative and analytical skills.
    • Confidence in decision-making, especially under pressure.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proven experience in commercial livestock production (minimum 2 years).
    • Commitment to animal welfare with a proactive attitude.
    • GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent).
    • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in agriculture.
    • Full UK driving licence.
  • Desirable Skills and Experience:

    • Formal agricultural or food technology qualification.
    • Lead Auditor Status (IRCA).
    • Experience in farm assurance environments.

What’s the Environment?
This is a home-based role requiring significant travel across the UK, including overnight stays.
