WHAT CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT THE ROLE? Fully accountable for the delivery and execution of annual sales plans to achieve commercial objectives as part of an overall Company growth strategy, the role requires a dynamic, results-driven personality with a high-achieving career in the groundcare / golf & turf sector behind them. The role forms part of the senior leadership team of the business and is responsible for a team of area sales managers.
WHAT QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE DO I NEED?
- You have significant and successful experience in professional and domestic groundcare retail sales management – minimum 5 years – displaying excellent industry insight, competitor knowledge and thorough understanding of the wide range of end user profiles
- You have first class team leadership skills: a proven ability to coach and mentor whilst driving sales and growth objectives tied in to a structured 1:1 and performance review framework and ensuring a high-performance culture built on accountability and continuous improvement
- Your well-rounded commercial skillset should include strategic account management, budgeting and forecasting, inventory management, demand cycles, experience in bids and tenders, digital and ecommerce, marketing campaigns all underpinned by an entrepreneurial mindset, ability to negotiate and influence commercial decisions and to retain and grow key customers
- You have strong analytical skills, capable of identifying and reacting to market trends and new opportunities through a comprehensive knowledge of the competitive landscape
- You fully understand what is meant by excellence in customer service (including NPS) and how to maintain this to a consistently high standard
- You have excellent communication skills, coupled with first class interpersonal and relationship building skills as well as good all-round presentation and IT experience including CRM
- Your natural enterprising and driven nature should permeate all activities and positively enthuse those around you to achieve high performance levels and the highest standards of customer service
- You’ll reside in (or be prepared to relocate to) the North of England, enjoy regular travel (occasionally overseas) and possess a clean driving license
