Job Title: Laying Manager / Fieldsperson
Location: Northern UK (with regular travel across the North of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland)
Overview
We are working on behalf of a well-established free-range egg producer that operates with a strong focus on bird welfare, quality production, and long-term relationships with its network of farmers across the UK. The business is known for its practical, hands-on approach and its commitment to supporting producers in achieving high standards while maintaining commercial sustainability.
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join the management team in a field-based role supporting laying farms across the northern region.
The Role
This position will involve regular visits to producer farms, working closely with farmers to support best practice in flock management, welfare standards, and operational performance. Reporting to the Director of Agriculture, the successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining consistency, quality, and audit readiness across the supply base.
Key responsibilities include:

Visiting farms across the North of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland on a regular basis

Advising producers on flock management, welfare, and production best practice

Supporting farms in maintaining high welfare and assurance standards

Assisting with audit preparation and compliance requirements

Building strong working relationships with farmers and acting as a key point of contact

Promoting a culture of continuous improvement across the producer network
Candidate Profile

Strong practical knowledge of poultry production, ideally within laying systems

Commercial awareness and an understanding of farm business realities

Confident communicator with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills

Well organised with the ability to plan visits and manage time effectively

Proactive, flexible and comfortable working as part of a wider team
