Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Agrochemical Management: Oversee the selection, procurement, and application of agrochemicals, fertilizers, and pesticides to optimize crop yield and quality.
- Crop Protection: Develop and implement integrated pest management (IPM) strategies to protect crops from diseases, pests, and weeds while minimizing environmental impact.
- Soil Health: Conduct soil analyses and collaborate with agronomists to ensure proper soil health and fertility management through the application of appropriate agrochemicals.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on local and international regulations related to agrochemical use, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Research and Development: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in agrochemicals. Conduct trials and research to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of agrochemical applications.
- Training and Education: Provide training and guidance to farm staff on the safe and effective use of agrochemicals, promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including agronomists, farm managers, and quality control, to ensure seamless integration of agrochemical practices in the overall farming strategy.
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience as an Agrochemical Specialist in the agricultural / horticultural industry, preferably in fresh produce.
- In-depth knowledge of agrochemicals, fertilizers, and pesticides, as well as their application methods.
- Understanding of soil science, crop physiology, and integrated pest management principles.
- Familiarity with local and international regulations governing agrochemical use and safety.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Arabic and English languages preferred.
