We are recruiting an experienced, hands-on Dairy Farm Manager to take full operational responsibility for two commercial dairy units (Holstein herd). One unit is a smaller milking operation with approximately 120 milking cows.
The role requires strong dairy management capability, data-driven decision making (Afimilk or similar herd management systems), staff leadership, and practical technical and equipment competence. The successful candidate must be capable of running both units independently with minimal owner involvement.
This is not a supervisory or advisory role. We are seeking a practical, accountable manager who is comfortable making decisions, solving problems, and delivering measurable operational improvements.
Accommodation on or near farm is preferred, with separate living arrangements from general staff.
Key Responsibilities
1. Full Farm Operations

Day-to-day management of two commercial dairy units

Oversight of:

Milking operations

Feeding programmes

Reproduction management

Herd health

Youngstock management
-
Implementation and enforcement of standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Coordination with vets, nutritionists, suppliers, and service providers

Responsibility for hygiene, biosecurity, and animal welfare standards
2. Data & Performance Management (Afimilk or equivalent)

Daily use of herd management software

Monitoring and acting on:

Milk production and quality
-
Activity and heat detection
-
Health alerts and abnormal milk indicators

Reproduction performance
-
Rumination and cow activity data
-
Preparation of weekly and monthly KPI reports

Use of data to identify issues early and improve herd performance
3. Staff Leadership

Supervision and coordination of staff across both units

Shift planning and task allocation

Training, discipline, and performance management

Enforcement of operational standards and accountability

Reducing reliance on owner involvement in day-to-day operations
4. Equipment & Technical Responsibility
The successful candidate must be technically hands-on and capable of first-line troubleshooting and basic repairs.

Pumps and pipelines

Feed mixers and general farm machinery
Responsibilities include:

Basic to intermediate repairs and adjustments

Fault diagnosis and problem-solving

Preventive maintenance scheduling

Managing equipment downtime

Coordinating external engineers where required
5. Cost Control & Efficiency

Monitoring feed, labour, veterinary, and maintenance costs

Focus on cost per litre and operational efficiency

Reduction of waste and inefficiencies

Support with budgeting and operational planning
Candidate Profile (Essential Requirements)

5–8+ years’ experience managing commercial dairy farms

Proven responsibility for full farm operations (not supervisory only)

Strong practical knowledge of:

Reproduction and herd health

Milking systems and dairy equipment

Experience with Afimilk or similar herd management systems preferred

Strong hands-on technical capability

Fluent English required (Greek advantageous)
