Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Fertigation Management: Design, implement, and manage fertigation systems to deliver precise nutrients and water to crops through irrigation methods, open field, protected and glasshouse environments.
- Nutrient Management: Develop fertilizer application plans tailored to specific crop needs, ensuring optimal nutrient uptake and plant health.
- Irrigation Optimization: Collaborate with agronomists and irrigation teams to optimize irrigation schedules and techniques, minimizing water usage while maximizing crop growth.
- Monitoring and Analysis: Monitor soil moisture levels, nutrient content, and crop responses to fertigation practices. Analyse data to make informed adjustments and improvements.
- Technology Integration: Stay updated on advanced fertigation technologies and tools. Implement innovative techniques to improve efficiency and sustainability in chemical and water use.
- Training and Collaboration: Train staff on proper fertigation techniques and collaborate with various teams to integrate fertigation plans with overall crop management strategies.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of fertigation activities, nutrient applications, and their impact on crop performance. Generate reports for management review.
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Soil Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications related to fertigation are advantageous.
- 5 years of experience as a Fertigation Specialist or in a similar role within the agricultural industry.
- Proficiency in designing and managing fertigation systems, including knowledge of irrigation techniques and fertilizer application methods.
- Strong understanding of soil fertility, crop nutrient requirements, and irrigation principles.
- Ability to analyse data, interpret results, and make recommendations for optimizing fertigation practices.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Arabic and English languages preferred.
