WHAT IS THE JOB?
Overseeing all operations of the Cage Free poultry farm, this includes rearing, production and packing. (total number of chickens 140,000) The Farm Manager ensures optimal bird health, supervises staff, and maintains equipment. Key tasks include implementing strategic plan that will produce specific standards in the business, managing feed supply, monitoring egg production, and ensuring compliance with animal welfare standards.
The role will be key to the success of the overall cage free business and include staff training, imparting knowledge of best practice and putting policies and procedures in place.
WHAT ARE MY RESPONSIBILITIES?:
• Work alongside engineers / contractors to ensure the multi million AED project is delivered as per specification and on time.
• Manage and coordinate personnel, overall production activities.
• Manage and coordinate, through supervisory personnel the maintenance of facilities and equipment.
• Manage bird welfare, maintenance, packing and transfer activities.
• Oversee quality assurance/quality control programs.
• Communicate and coordinate with contract service providers where applicable.
• Manage and maintain weekly production numbers and planning schedules to provide agreed number of chicks to the farms allowing achievement of targeted processing numbers.
• Monitor and manage facility equipment and repairs, addressing maintenance issues.
• Maintain farm sanitation.
• Establish and manage safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and information regarding cage free equipment and operations.
• Manage reports, review, and analyze, performing corrective measures.
• Ensure key KPI's are in line with industry best practice
• Responsible for the cage free budget.
• Manage Animal Welfare Program.
• Comply with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
WHAT SKILLS OR EXPERINCE DO I NEED?
• Knowledge of poultry farming practices and procedures, including breeding, rearing, and disease management
• Experience in managing a cage free poultry farm, including record-keeping, budgeting, and staff management
• Ability to identify and solve problems related to cage free poultry farming, such as disease outbreaks, feed shortages, and equipment malfunctions
• Knowledge of and adherence to industry regulations and standards related to animal welfare, food safety, and environmental impact
• Minimum of 8 years of experience to the same field
