The Opportunity
This is a development-led appointment working in the Agriculture Department, designed for an ambitious early-career individual who is looking to progress into a long-term leadership role within a modern, vertically integrated agricultural business.
The successful candidate will gain broad exposure across farm operations, technical management, welfare standards, and commercial performance, working closely with the Director of Agriculture and senior leadership team.
This is a field-based role covering farms across the North of England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, offering significant autonomy, responsibility, and variety from the outset.
Key Responsibilities
- Regular on-farm engagement with producers, providing hands-on operational and technical support
- Supporting flock performance, welfare outcomes, and productivity improvements
- Ensuring farms meet and exceed company and industry audit standards
- Promoting best practice in biosecurity, welfare, and production efficiency
- Acting as a trusted link between farms and the wider technical/management team
- Supporting operational planning, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Building strong, credible relationships across the producer network
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a motivated and commercially aware individual at an early stage of their agricultural career, ideally with some exposure to poultry or livestock production.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- A genuine interest in poultry production, animal welfare, and agricultural systems
- Some practical industry experience (poultry, livestock, or farming environment preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building capability
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a willingness to take ownership
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Commercial awareness and interest in integrated food production systems
- Flexibility and commitment to extensive UK travel
